A receiver is a buffer, not a compressor. BLAST APEX lists ASME / IS 2825 class tanks in the 450-1600 L band, 10-12 bar, with relief, drain and gauge. Vertical or horizontal follows the plot. The job of the tank is to stop the screw short-cycling when a blast pot dumps and a long hose sucks.
Place it near the pot, not only next to the compressor house, if the hose run is long. Drain the condensate every shift or the next vessel in line eats water and the slag clumps. We do not treat a receiver as optional jewellery on a blasting spread.

A 500 L pot dumping into a skinny hose without a nearby receiver is why operators say “the machine is weak”. Often the screw is fine and the buffer is missing. 450-1600 L is the listing band; we do not invent a 5000 L shop tank on this page. Drain daily. A bowl of water in the receiver is tomorrow’s packed nozzle.
Stored volume covers the dump and the hose. Without it the screw hunts and nozzle PSI falls.
