Pick media by the spec, not by habit. Slag is cheap once-through site work. Steel grit belongs in a cabinet or room with recovery. Garnet is the marine default when the coating data sheet names it. Aluminium oxide is for precision and for shops that will eat tungsten nozzles. Glass bead is finish work, not rust removal.
